October has arrived, ushering in crisp fall
weather and anticipation for Halloween. Whether you’re looking forward to a
frightful night or just a fun autumnal celebration, Boulder County has you
covered. Interested in seeing what our community
has to offer this Halloween? Here, we share a few options for folks of all ages.
Banjo Billy’s Bus Ghost Tour
If you’re a history buff, you won’t want to
miss out on the opportunity to discover Boulder’s historic haunts on the
eclectic Banjo Billy bus. Boulder is home to several historical buildings,
including the iconic Hotel Boulderado and
the Montgomery House. As
you pass these destinations on the tour bus, your guide will treat you to a
delightfully spooky outline of Boulder’s lesser-known crime and ghost stories.
Ghost tours run every weekend throughout the month of October, in addition to
October 30-31. To book your spot on the bus, please visit this site.
A Little Fright Music at The Nomad Playhouse
Lovers of theatre will enjoy the collaboration
between the Storieson Stage troupe and the Colorado Chamber Players
as they perform A Little Fright Music at The Nomad Playhouse
on October 19 at 7:30 pm. This performance will feature a rendition of Edgar
Allan Poe’s Masque of the Red Death
and will be sure to give you the chills. If you’d like to purchase a ticket, head over to this website.
Exotica Erotica Ball
Looking for a Halloween-themed, adults-only
escape? Join the group of 21+ for the annual Exotica Erotica Ball at TheRiverside on Broadway. This event is one of the most
prestigious masquerade balls in the country, and it’s highly anticipated each
year. At the Exotica Erotica Ball, you can expect burlesque entertainment, a
risqué costume contest, a no-holds-barred dance floor, and more. Costumes and
IDs are required. The ball is running October 26 and 27 from 9 pm-2 am, and tickets are available online.
The Munchkin Masquerade
If you’re on the hunt for an unforgettable
trick-or-treating experience for your little one(s), stop by Boulder’s annual Munchkin Masquerade on Pearl Street.
Held on Halloween night, this fun-filled tradition is one that’s near and dear
to our community. Many of Pearl Street’s vendors offer up their best Halloween
candy for our town’s littlest residents. Come join the celebration as Pearl
Street is overtaken by adorable costume-clad visitors. Parents and guardians
are welcome (and encouraged) to dress up, too!
